Our IFR training program is unique, challenging and most importantly useful in your helicopter flying career!

We utilize a R44 Helicopter with a large panel and advanced avionics. A Garmin GNS430 is the center of the navigation equipment along with a Sandel Electronic HSI. Marker Beacons and other equipment round out our Instrument Training Helicopter.

Most Employers and many insurance companies now require an IFR rating for any pilot, even when flying VFR only.  

Most training is conducted at night and hooded to ensure the most realistic IFR simulation experience

              You will learn to operate the helicopter under Instrument Flight Rules and be capable of escaping an otherwise hazardous situation, should you encounter a real IMC event.  Many IFR training programs get you through a "Check Ride" but offer no real world skills to get you out of trouble.  We will cover IFR Helicopter flying in detail and why it is so much more than a "rating" that is required to make you a safe and competent IFR pilot.
    14 days and about 45 hours flying time  is needed to get your IFR rating.  We offer traveling programs and we customize the program for your needs.

We start at home base, train and travel daily in the helicopter and finish up with your "check ride" and the new certificate.
